This time last year, singer and former 'Canadian Idol' finalist Carly Rae Jepsen was a relative unknown outside her native Canada. Now, fans worldwide are singing along to the 26-year-old's breakthrough hit ‘Call Me Maybe.’

How did Carly make her name on the music scene so fast? With the help of some famous fans—like Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Ashley Tisdale, who did a viral video of the infectious tune in February. To date, both that clip and the official video have gotten over 30 million YouTube views. The single has topped iTunes chart in 37 countries, including the U.K., Ireland, and Australia, and gone platinum in the U.S. and quintuple platinum in Canada.
