Tsuki ni wa murakumo hana ni wa kaze to
Konata yori kanata e eikyuu kizukenu nara
Kumo tsukinuke kaze kirisaite
Kuon no tayutai e izanau

It was the lyric that the group were making fun of. Tsuki ni Murakumo Hana ni Kaze, composed by Yuuhei Satelllite, sung by Senya. In case if you didn’t know who Senya was, Senya was Mayumi Morinaga’s alias. Mayumi Morinaga became famous for singing several tracks on BEMANI songs, one of her songs, Din Don Dan, was featured on Dance Evolution Arcade and Dance Dance Revolution.
Coincidentally, Ward was playing the song during the third stage of his turn playing Groove Coaster. Groove Coaster cabinet was placed facing Pump It Up cabinet which was placed next to BlazBlue cabinets.
Although he used SAFE (changing miss into good for 10 times) item during the stage, he received only rank S and NO MISS since he played HARD level 8 difficulty. Though, he played Groove Coaster better than Maimai.
“Ha ha ha! Zucchini!” exclaimed a brown long haired girl laughing out loud in front of Maimai cabinet.
“How about this? Zucchini ambarukmo hana ni kastangeel.” Don added the misheard lyrics.
“Already on LINE!”
“Xephyr, you’re seriously making us laugh!” Ed said.
Ward then walked to the front of Maimai cabinet before talking to Dave, “The misheard lyrics, right?”
“Yup,” Dave answered. “I’m serious, I’m going to make the misheard lyrics to the song.”
“EH?! What?! Seriously!”
“Hi, Ward!” Ed greeted. “Tomorrow is the finals, right?”
“True. I made it through the final eight,” Ward replied.
“Okay, everyone, enough!” Ian arrived. “No misheard lyrics allowed anymore! It’s tsuki ni, not zucchini! Why did you all add ambarukmo? I don’t understand that word!”
Dave replied, “It’s okay, it’s just for fun, making fun on the lyrics.”
Don added, “The lyrics are not only catchy, but also misheard-able.”
“Please, don’t! I don’t want you mocking the lyrics in disgrace! It’s the goddess Mayumi Morinaga who sings the song! Senya is Mayumi Morinaga!”
“Eh?!” Dave said. “So, Mayumi Morinaga sings?”
“You just know?” asked Don.
Ward looked at the clock on his phone screen. “Oh no, it’s almost 4 o’clock. Better go home, my family asks me to go out tonight for dinner. Oh yeah, don’t forget to watch me tomorrow if you come to Arcade Station. I should get going!”
“Careful!” Dave said when Ward walked away from Arcade Station.
Zucchini is tsuki ni. Yup, make sense,” said Ed.
“Please stop!” Ian got annoyed.
***
The finals, on Sunday, Ward immediately entered Arcade Station which was more crowded as usual. Most people visiting were lining up for the most popular games in the arcade, such as Dance Evolution Arcade, Danz Base, Maimai, Tekken, Street Fighter, Time Crisis 5, and Aikatsu!.
“Hey, Ward!” Aishiro was looking at Street Fighter cabinets.
“Ward, you came!” Toshi also greeted.
“Of course, it’s the finals! I better reregister myself for the finals. Just watch, okay?” Ward left to reregister for the tournament.
“Alright! Good luck! I’m sure you’re gonna win!” Toshi got optimistic. He then saw around the BlazBlue cabinets were getting crowded by the visitors. “What’s going on? Around the BlazBlue cabinets are getting crowded than usual.”
“You don’t know?” Aishiro asked. “The cashier said that BlazBlue is one of the most popular games in Arcade Station all across the country, other than Street Fighter, Danz Base, and Aikatsu!. This is one of the events organized by Arcade Station that customers don’t ever wanna miss.”
Toshi ended up being speechless. “I… I see….”

“You’re acting really weird, Dave,” Hans commented seeing Dave pushed the buttons on Maimai cabinet while playing Tsuki ni Murakumo Hana ni Kaze during the third stage.
“I just need an idea for words.”
“For what?”
“Misheard lyrics, for this song.”
“Okay, enough!” shouted Ian came greeting Don, Ed, and Xephyr who were watching Dave finished the third stage on Maimai.
“What?” asked Xephyr.
“This! Since you made misheard lyrics, everyone is making misheard lyrics of Tsuki ni Murakumo on the group chat log! The truth is, I’m totally annoyed.”
Don replied, “Ian, c’mon, we’re just having fun on the song. We suffered from saltiness after playing that game on every game available.”
“Just because you got only one either GREAT, GOOD, or MISS, you just want to have fun with the lyrics, huh?” Ian said.
“The song is pretty catchy, so Dave is trying to make an appropriate misheard lyric to the song,” Hans also added.
“Zucchini ambarukmo, haha….” Xephyr laughed.
“Stop it!” shouted Ian.
***
“Everyone…, thank you for being here. Let’s just start the… BlazBlue: Central Fiction finals!” The blue shirted and spiky haired guy pumped his hands acting as the host.
“ORYAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!” Most of the audience screamed.
“Eh?! It’s more crowded,” Toshi said.
The host introduced the top player during the qualifier. “Then, let’s just greet the player with the highest score during the qualifier! Ward!!”
Ward finally walked approaching the BlazBlue cabinets greeted by the audience’s screams. He looked at BlazBlue cabinets before staring at the audience.
“Yeah!! It’s Ward!!” shouted Toshi.
“Damn it! The highest score on the preliminary?!” shouted Aishiro. “Epic, man!”
“Next, I’m gonna introduce you seven more players qualified in today’s finals!” the host introduced other players as they came. “The green haired male gamer, Albert!! A genius elementary school gamer, Keelan!! A young lad who is also a Danz Base player and celebgram (celebrity Instagram user), Gilbert AJ!! A blacksmith who works on anime related goods, German!! A gamer who is also a YouTuber, Halbert Yuzuki!! A genius Chinese face gamer with smart glasses, Adrian!!”
Ward talked to himself quietly as he saw his opponents in the finals, “Awesome. These gamers are really epic when it comes to play BlazBlue. I think I’d seen Gilbert AJ playing Danz Base before. Keelan is a genius and awesome playing Maimai despite his age. This won’t be easy as I think.”
The host introduced the last player, “Last but not the least, the player with the highest score during yesterday’s qualifier batch! The third player with the highest score in overall qualifier! Gavin!!”
Gavin, the brown-haired guy finally arrived greeting the host and the audience. Ward was shocked upon finding out that Gavin who came and passed the qualifier was his college mate in the same major.
“WHAT?!” shouted Ward quietly.
***
“NOOOOO!!!” Gilbert screamed after his character, Iron Tager, was beaten by his opponent, Ward’s Ragna the Bloodedge, with “ASTRAL FINISH”.
“It’s ASTRAL FINISH! Ward wins the first round! He’s going through to the semifinal!” the host announced.
“WOOOOOO!!” the audience screamed as Ward walked out from the BlazBlue cabinet.
“Next, it’s Gavin versus Adrian!!” the host announced.
Ward thought to himself as Gavin and Adrian walked to BlazBlue cabinets. He wondered why Gavin from his same college major suddenly participated in a game event like BlazBlue: Central Fiction competition.
Ward and Gavin weren’t really close friends in the class, but he occasionally brought his PlayStation Vita to his class while waiting for the lecturer to come in the class. He suddenly remembered that moment when Gavin let everyone looked at him playing Persona 4 Dancing All Night.
“Take this!” shouted Gavin using one of the skills of his character, Hazama, to finish the round.
“AAAARRRGH!!!” Adrian shouted after his character, Noel Vermilion, got beaten with “DISTORTION FINISH”.
“It’s DISTORTION FINISH!! Gavin makes it into the semifinal!!” shouted the host.
“Oh crap, he uses Hazama.” Ward realized.

“You’re done with the misheard verse one yet?” asked Don to Dave who copied the real Tsuki wa Murakumo.
Hans looked at the first sentence of the verse number one “Zucchini ambarukmo Hana here your kastangeel, Oh buru ini kaku reta sok shock.”
“Kinda odd enough?” asked Dave to Don and Hans.
“Absolutely!” Both Don and Hans replied.
Hans read the next verse, “My boo thought yuki suite kao, Hikari sha no watashi salad.”
“Excuse me, what kind of misheard lyrics of this?” Ian protested upon looking at Dave’s laptop screen.
“It’s a kind of random language used on misheard lyrics. Often used on YouTube,” Dave revealed. “Now I just need to hear the chorus once again.” He put his black earphone on his ears.
Don sang the misheard chorus part again, “Zucchini ambarukmo Hana here your kastangeel. I don’t know what’s next.”
Toshi greeted them, “Hey, misheard lyrics, right?”
“Toshi? How’s Ward?” asked Hans.
“Of course he’s going through the semifinal,” Toshi replied. “Hey, can I help too? Let me hear it.”
“Sure.”
Toshi wore Dave’s right black earphone to hear the chorus. “Tsuki ni wa murakumo hana ni wa kaze to, Konata yori kanata e eikyuu kizukenu nara. Oh I know!” He typed another misheard verse. “Kau nata yuri ke nata eh buru. Like that.”
“That’s another random language?” asked Ian.
“Yup, just heard on my mind,” Toshi answered.
“Ah! I just can’t take it anymore!” shouted Ian before leaving Arcade Station.
“Ian!” shouted Dave, Hans, and Don at the same time.
“Am I wrong?” asked Toshi.
“I bet he was also shocked hearing that Dance Evolution Arcade got discontinued in Japan,” Hans concluded.
“Ah! Please don’t tell me that is true!” shouted Dave. “I retired from Danz Base in order to move to Dance Evolution for nothing?!”
“C’mon, Dave, calm down, we still have Maimai and Groove Coaster at least. You also play those games too, right?” Toshi tried to calm Dave down.
***
“Now it’s time for the grand finale!!” the host screamed.
“WOOOOOOO!!!” shouted the audience.
“So fast!” Aishiro exclaimed.
“We will find out who’s gonna be the BlazBlue champion! Ward versus Gavin!!”
“Ward? Is that you? From Technical Information major?” asked Gavin.
“Yeah. I didn’t have any idea you’re also playing games like this, Gavin,” Ward replied.
“Absolutely, BlazBlue is one of my favorites, so I won’t lose that easily.”
“Alright, let’s rock!” said Ward as they sat in front of their each BlazBlue cabinet.
“Wait? They know each other?” asked Aishiro.
“Looks like,” Toshi replied one minute after he came back. “I heard he’s also from the same major as Ward.”
“You don’t have any idea.” Aishiro shooked his head.
Ward chose Ragna the Bloodedge character, while Gavin chose Hazama character, right before the battle commenced. The audience already screamed cheering for both of them, curious who will be the champion.
Then everyone screamed right before the battle began, “The wheel of fate is turning! Rebel one! ACTION!”
“Take this! Venom Sword!” shouted Gavin using one of Hazama’s signature skills.
“Whoa! Gavin used Hazama’s signature skill!” shouted the host.
Ward made his Ragna the Bloodedge jumped evading the attack before using Inferno Divider to give Gavin’s Hazama damages. Ward continued his combo before stopping at 5 when Gavin’s Hazama attacked.
“It’s the high-profile battle!” shouted the host.
“Take this!” Ward used Ragna’s Dead Spike and Nightmare Edge.
“Whoa!” shouted Gavin seeing his character, Hazama, taking a lot of damage.
“Now!” shouted Ward using Ragna’s distortion drive, Carnage Scissors.
But the attack got interrupted when Gavin’s Hazama attacked Ward’s Ragna once again with Hungry Coils, failing Ragna’s distortion drive attack. Gavin used Hazama’s distortion drive, Serpent’s Internal Rapture, giving Ward’s Ragna a lot of damages.
“Oh no!” shouted Ward looking Ragna’s health bar had become red, meaning the health bar was gone low.
“Uh oh! Ward’s Ragna health bar became low! Will Gavin’s Hazama win this round?” the host shouted. “It’s Gavin’s chance!”
“Take this! I’m gonna give you ASTRAL FINISH!” shouted Gavin.
“Not so fast!” Ward’s Ragna nearly avoided the attack.
“Oh! Ward’s Ragna attacked Gavin’s Hazama once more!!” shouted the host.
“My Astral!” Ward shouted as he used Ragna’s Astral Heat, Black Onslaught.
“Damn it!!” shouted Gavin seeing his Hazama got beaten with “ASTRAL FINISH”.
“It’s ASTRAL FINISH!! The winner is… WARD!!!!” the host announced.
“Ward! Ward! Ward!” shouted the audience.
Gavin stood up leaving his BlazBlue cabinet before meeting Ward once more. “Hey, congrats, you beat me.”
“That was really epic. You almost beat my ass.” Ward shook Gavin’s right hand.
“Next time, I won’t lose!” Gavin cheered up.
“Yeah, I’m looking forward for it.” Ward smiled.
***
“Ian,” Dave came to the food court approaching him eating on one of the tables in food court near Arcade Station.
Hans, who also came with Dave and Don, also looked at the paper written on the table. It turned out he was also writing the misheard lyrics of Tsuki wa Murakumo Hana ni Kaze.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” asked Hans.
“Telling what?”
“This?” Hans pointed on the paper. “You’re also writing the misheard lyrics.”
Don laughed a bit. “This is why you’re just faking that you’ve been annoyed with our misheard lyrics. And look, you wrote Zucchini ambarukmo too!”
“You’re also taking our lyrics, right?” asked Dave.
“See, I just got inspired by all of you. I need to write the misheard lyrics for myself. To making fun on the song which recently got popular in the world of rhythm games,” Ian revealed.
“Why don’t you just help us writing the misheard lyrics? It will be fun if we do it together!” Dave suggested.
“Hi, guys, there you are,” Ward came bringing the BlazBlue Tourmament Champion certificate.
“Hey, Ward! You won?” asked Dave.
“Absolutely, look!” Ward showed his certificate.
“Whoa!” shouted Don.
“Congratulations, Ward!” said Ian.
Ward looked at the paper, “Whoa, you’re writing the misheard lyrics of the song on yesterday? I’m in!”
“Woo!!” shouted Ian and Don.
“Let’s just start writing and guessing the lyrics,” Dave suggested to start over the project.

“It’s Spring Break tomorrow.” Toshi just finished playing Danz Base and took his bag in front of the cabinet. “What would you do tomorrow?”
“Don’t know yet. Maybe I’ll come back here,” Aishiro replied as they walked away from Danz Base cabinet.
Toshi stopped his steps when he saw a familiar girl playing Pump It Up Prime 2. He remembered when he saw the hair. He then walked approaching the cabinet as the girl started playing Produce 101 – Pick Me S15 (Single Level 15) during the second stage.

Toshi looked at her familiar face, it was Sung Mi! “No way….”
