Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome your hosts, Drew and Holly!!
*audience cheers as Drew and Holly greet the audience*
Drew: “Yeah!”
Holly: “Hello and huge welcome to the 11th
episode of Best of 2013, Nick is off tonight, but it will be awesome as well as
we continue counting down the top music videos of 2013! We have 65 videos to
go!”
Drew: “And Ellie Goulding and James Arthur are here
performing in the live lounge!! And we have the premiere of John Mayer’s new
music video featuring Katy Perry! Whoa! They’re finally revealing that they’re
really dating after many speculations and rumors!”
Holly: “I was expecting this rumor to be coming true, and it
finally happened! John Mayer and Katy Perry are dating each other! Wow! That’s
amazing for Katy Perry, she needed to move on from Russell Brand!”
Drew: “By the way, we’re also revealing the Best Japanese
Act at the end of the show! We’re also revealing the top 5 video games of 2013!”
Holly: “Video games? Buckle up, guys, your favorite video
game might make it into the list! But first, here are the nominees for the Best
Japanese Act!”
Best Japanese Act:
AKB48
Exile
Kana Nishino
Morning Musume
Namie Amuro
#65. Robin Thicke feat. Kendrick Lamar – Give It 2 U (21239
pts.)
Drew: “Guys and girls, we’re now revealing the top 5 video
games of 2013!! Here we go, we’re starting at number five, as usual!”
Holly: “The number five goes to Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon!”
VIDEO GAMES OF 2013 #5
FAR CRY 3: BLOOD DRAGON
Drew: “Ir’s a stand-alone addition of the hit game Far Cry 3 from Ubisoft. It’s a throwback
to the testosterone-driven films of the ’80s and early ’90s, before we demanded
deep thoughts from our action films. The protagonist, Sergeant Rex Power Colt,
is a gravel-voiced cyborg with a metallic arm and glowing red eye. Tired
clichés, cringe-worthy double entendres and references to decades-old pop
culture saturate every line of dialog. Basically, it’s like modern video games,
only gloriously aware of its silliness.”
Holly: “So this is not the sequel right?”
Drew: “Nope. Alright, we’re moving on to the number 4, which
is Bioshock Infinite!”
VIDEO GAMES OF 2013 #4
BIOSHOCK INFINITE
Drew: “It’s a game that’s prompted more smart commentary
than most games will ever see. It has a reputation for being that kind of game
— the one you approach intellectually, despite its grisly facade of smashed
skulls, burnt bodies and cartoonish gore. The same was true with the original BioShock and
with the spiritually-related System Shock series.”
Holly: “Since its’ release, the game received many awards,
including the Golden Joystick Award for the Best Visual Design, Inside Gaming
Awards for the Best Art and Best Story, and the Best Shooter on the Spike’s
VGX.”
Drew: “That’s
amazing!”
Holly: “Yeah, the game is critically acclaimed too, alright,
next we have Ellie Goulding performing in the Live Lounge, but first check out
the video number 64!”
#64. Flo Rida – I Cry (21258 pts.)
Performing her new single, How Long Will I Love You, please welcome Ellie Goulding!
Drew: “That was an emotional performance from Ellie Goulding.
Well, James Arthur is performing next, and of course you can’t wait for the
premiere of John Mayer’s new music video featuring his recently announced
girlfriend, Katy Perry!”
Holly: “Make sure you stay tuned for this most anticipated
video premiere! But first, before we reveal the number 63 and James Arthur
performs his new single, Recovery,
which is the third single from his debut album of the same name…”
Drew: “Wait a minute, are you saying that Recovery is the title of his debut
album?”
Holly: “I mean, I’m sorry, it’s his self-titled album, let’s
just forget my mistakes *audience laughs* Let’s just move on, Drew, go ahead.”
Drew: “I forgot what to say after you said that.”
*audience laughs*
Holly: “Oh, c’mon, please let me! It’s your favorite game
franchise! It’s your favorite game franchise!”
Drew: “Yeah, but I…”
Holly: “It’s Pokemon X & Y!”
Drew: “Oh! Pokemon X & Y!”
Holly: “Which is the number 3 video game of 2013!”
VIDEO GAMES OF 2013 #3
POKEMON X & Y
Drew: “I like this new Pokemon, The 3DS versions of
Nintendo’s celebrated roleplaying franchise don’t revolutionize the
exploration-focused, turn-based critter-battling series so much as refine it,
rendering the game world in beautiful 3D while iterating combat features that
allow your PokĂ©mon to assume temporary “ultimate” personas and battle in the
sky as well as on the ground. X and Yintroduced 69 new Pokemon and 28 new "Mega
Evolutions", which some new features including a new fairy type, character
customization, new battle and trainings mechanics, as well as completely
rendered polygonal 3D graphics rather than sprites.”
Holly: “The games were highly anticipated and were a
commercial success; selling four million copies worldwide in the first weekend,
beating Black and White's record and making the fastest selling
game on the 3DS.”
Drew: “It’s the fact that Pokemon is Nintendo’s flagship
game, but fans keep loving it, I can’t wait to see the next Pokemon after I
finish playing it! Now we’re going to the video number 63!”
#63. Imagine Dragons – It’s Time (21286 pts.)
Performing his
latest single, Recovery, please welcome James Arthur!!
Drew: “We
have the top 2 video games of 2013 to be revealed! I believe video game fans
must’ve anticipated these two games since each announcement! So am I! I’m a
huge fan of video games too! We have Assassin’s
Creed IV: Black Flag and Grand Theft
Auto V!”
Holly: “Whoa,
two great video games, I know those two are the best ones from 2013 in video
game world, but remember, only one will be crowned as the Best Video Game of
2013! Which one?”
Drew: “Speaking
about Grand Theft Auto V, It’s
as irresistible to play as it is to admire, a super-sized version of the
already super-sized Grand Theft Auto
IV with the best parts intact and all the impurities leeched out. It’s
the most refined game Rockstar’s ever published: the vehicle physics are
immaculate and the driving controls are superb; the interface is stripped and
clean; the gunplay and tactical cover system are perfected; and the expertly
paced missions are honed to a fine, felonious edge.”
Holly: “While Assassin’s
Creed IV: Black Flag is like you’re imagining the gameplay breakthroughs of Assassin’s Creed III in a bigger
sandbox, playing as a buccaneer scraping by during the early 18th century
so-called Golden Age of Piracy and all of that rendered in exquisite detail.”
Drew: “And in the end, only one is the best which is… from Rockstar
Games, Grand Theft Auto V!!”

GRAND THEFT AUTO V
Holly: “And now you’re waiting for it, the premiere of John
Mayer’s new video featuring Katy Perry, Who
You Love, starts now. Enjoy!”
#62. Eminem – Berzerk (21320 pts.)
Drew: “Alright, that’s Eminem – Berzerk, his first single
from his latest album The Marshall
Matters LP 2. He finally made a comeback to music this year! Finally, the
King of Hip-Hop is back! And we’re back to business, we’re going to reveal the
Best Japanese Act!”
Holly: “And the Best Japanese Act goes to… AKB48!
Congratulations!!”
