Drew: “Are you bored on Monday? You shouldn’t be, because
this is the part of ‘STOP Hating Mondays’ campaign! Monday is the way to start
your week whether it will be better or worse than the last week.”
Nick: “And we’re also having fun this Monday night, tonight,
we reach top 75, we’re counting down videos number 75 to 71! Not only that, but
also top 5 overreported news, which are the heavily reported stories of 2013.”
Holly: “And Miss A and London Grammar are performing
tonight! Are you guys excited?”
*audience cheers*
Drew: “So before we get counting down the top 5 overreported
news, here are the nominees for Best Group.”
Nick: “And video number 75 is up next!”
BEST GROUP:
Florida Georgia Line
Girls’ Generation
Imagine Dragons
OneRepublic
The Wanted
#75. Taylor Swift – Red (18308 pts.)
Drew: “That was Taylor Swift – Red, which is the video
number 75! And… we start counting down the most overreported news of 2013,
starting with number 5, which is… Jodi Arias Trial.”
MOST OVERREPORTED NEWS OF 2013 #5
JODI ARIAS TRIAL
Drew: “This crime is the most oversensational crime stories
in years. Jodi Arias was accused for killing her ex-boyfriend, Travis
Alexander, , who was found with multiple stab wounds and a gunshot to the head
in Mesa, Ariz., back in 2008. Arias, 33, confessed to the murder but said it
was in self-defense. Due to the gruesomeness of the crime and the sordid
details of Arias’s relationship with Alexander, the case soon became a go-to
story for the Nancy Graces of cable news. Jodi Arias was found guilty for the
first-degree murder. The story soon inspired Lifetime Original Movie titled Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret. Next,
we have the most overreported news of 2013 number 4, Paula Deen scandal.”
MOST OVERREPORTED NEWS OF 2013 #4
PAULA DEEN SCANDAL
Drew: “Paula Deen’s biggest mistake appeared to be cooking
with too much butter. But when Deen was hit with a lawsuit for racist statement
at one of her Savannah, Georgia, restaurants, Deen soon slid into a media
circus that only got crazier by the day. After admitting to having used racial
slurs in the past, Food Network, Walmart, Target, QVC and Home Depot all cut
dies with Deen. The southern chef tried to repair the damage by apologizing in
odd online videos while also appearing on The Today Show to film a
sob-filled interview. But after all that, the lawsuit that started it all was
actually dismissed in August. And ironically, this made all her cookbooks sales
increased. Whoa, what a truly shocking. Okay, we’ll be right back for the top 3
most overreported news of 2013, first of all let’s check the video number 74,
which is EXO-K – Wolf. After this, London Grammar is performing live in the
live lounge. Stick with us.”
#74. EXO-K – Wolf (18761 pts.)
Performing their hit single, Strong, please welcome London Grammar!!
Holly: “That was London Grammar with their hit single, Stronger, it’s one of the amazing songs
performed by new artists of 2013, make sure you download the single on iTunes
or other legal music store, but remember, don’t download from the illegal ones.
Well, Drew has told you the most overreported news of 2013 number 5 and 4, it’s
time to reveal the number 3, which is… The Closing of World War II Memorial.”
MOST OVERREPORTED NEWS OF 2013
#3
THE CLOSING OF THE WORLD WAR II MEMORIAL
Holly: For more than two weeks, the shutdown of the federal
government wreaked havoc on a number of vital agencies and programs. Hundreds
of thousands of government employees were furloughed, numerous programs for
low-income families were halted and scientific research funded by the
government was axed. But one story seemed to rise above them all: the closing
of the World War II Memorial, which became a symbol for the shutdown once WWII
vets stormed the cordoned-off area and Tea Party Republicans used the controversy
to score political points. Many veterans wanted to highlight what they believed
to be excessive cuts to the military, but the closure of the memorial itself –
along with the rest of the country’s national parks – often became the story. That’s
too bad and truly shocking. And we’ll be coming back with Nick revealing the
most overreported news of 2013 number 2, Miss A will perform their latest
single, Hush after this video number
73.”
#73. Luke Bryan – That’s My Kind of Night (20161 pts.)
Performing their latest single, Hush, please welcome Miss A!
Nick: “That was Miss A with their latest single, Hush, one of my favorite K-pop songs.
And now let me reveal the most overreported news of 2013 number 2, it’s about
the Royal Baby!”
MOST OVERREPORTED NEWS OF 2013 #2
THE ROYAL BABY
Nick: First, everyone couldn’t stop writing about Kate
Middleton’s baby bump. Then it was stories guessing at what the little prince’s
new name would be. Finally, the birth of the baby himself garnered attention
for weeks, the name of the baby was Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge.
But that wasn’t it. Middleton’s post-partum baby bump got plenty of attention
as a number of bloggers cheered her for not hiding it. Then the disappearance
of said bump within three months of Little George’s arrival took over the
tabloids as many of them wondered, how she exactly did that? We have one more
news to be revealed as the most overreported news of 2013, but right after the
video number 72!”
#72. 50 Cent feat. Eminem & Adam Levine – My Life (20252
pts.)
Drew: “Well, we have one more video to reveal, as well as
the winner of the Best Group.”
Nick: “But first the most overreported news of 2013 goes to…”
Holly: “Miley Cyrus’ MTV VMA Performance!!”
Drew: “Miley is not Hannah Montana anymore, she decided to
grow up as a woman, but in a wrong way like this one.”
MOST OVERREPORTED NEWS OF 2013 #1
MILEY CYRUS’ MTV VMA PERFORMANCE
Nick: “The performance began with Cyrus performing ‘We Can't
Stop’ in bear-themed attire. During this part of the performance, she is shown
sticking out her tongue and flinging it around, ala Kiss. Following this,
Thicke entered the stage singing ‘Blurred Lines’ alternatively with Cyrus, who
stripped down to a skin-colored two-piece outfit. Cyrus subsequently touched
Thicke's crotch area with a giant foam finger and twerked against
his crotch.”
Drew: “Following this performance, news and social media
websites featured numerous articles about parental concerns with this
performance’s impact on children. Yeah, Miley was Hannah Montana, now she’s
growing up too fast.”
Holly: “Actually after this performance I was disappointed
with her image, she’s not herself, but she’s copying the way Britney Spears and
Christina Aguilera did. While Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, they’re still
teen-friendly.”
Nick: “C’mon, Holly, they’re growing up, so they need to
change their image more mature.”
Drew: “Not always, Taylor Swift kept her image
teen-friendly, and Kelly Clarkson too.”
Nick: “But the great news was… thanks to that performance,
her single, Wrecking Ball, quickly
became popular, even the music video which featured her naked became one of the
most viral of 2013, it also broke Vevo record too.”
Holly: “Hold on, why the hell you’re talking Wrecking Ball?”
Nick: “It’s one of the parts of the news!”
Holly: “That’s enough for tonight’s segment. Now we’re
revealing the Best Group, here we go! And… the Best Group goes to… *pauses 5
seconds* OneRepublic!! Congratulations!”
BEST GROUP
ONEREPUBLIC
Drew: “That’s it for tonight’s show, tomorrow Icona Pop and
Ariana Grande are performing!!”
*audience cheers*
Nick: “I’m Nick!”
Holly: “I’m Holly!”
Drew: “And I’m Drew, to close the show here’s video number
71!!”
Holly: “Good night, everybody! Enjoy your rest of the night!”
*audience cheers*
#71. One Direction – Little Things (20304 pts.)
